It’s April & I’m not quite ready

I don’t mean to start every Desktop Calendar post with “Can you believe it’s [insert month here] already?”, but I just can’t help it because when you think about it, we’ve blown through the first quarter of 2015 in what seems like seconds. I don’t know where the last three months went, but they are gone. I feel like I need to press pause to catch my breath. I really, really, really want to put EVERYTHING on hold just so I can finish all the housework that I keep starting only to abandon it midway. I spent two whole weeks of this last month saying that I really needed to do laundry until basically my entire wardrobe was laundry in a lovely pile in the middle of my loft. And then I had to actually do the laundry for real because you can’t hide from these things in a loft space. I have tried…

In March, I worked hard, which made me realize how bad my ADD is and also reminded me how essential having an on-going to-do list is. I don’t know how people function without daily to-do lists. In fact, my Google Calendar combined with my daily to-do lists has made me contemplate switching back to a real, proper paper agenda. I’m not really digging digital calendar-ing my work. I’m just not totally converted to it, but I’m still trying to use a digital calendar and at this point, the digital calendar seems to be messing me up more than keeping me organized. Everything’s in the digital calendar and even colour-coordinated, but it’s just not a big enough a part of my work flow when it should be.

In other news, I need to stop opening a million tabs in my web browser and I also need to learn to close said tabs instead of keeping them all open for days until the web browser crashes. How do I lose that bad habit? Somebody help me! I am embarrassed to admit that I often get lost trying to relocate the tabs I need. Sometimes I can’t even find my gmail tab. Yikes!

I must go sleep now so without further ado, here’s your free April calendar for your desktop! If you have any awesome organization tips, feel free to post them in the comments because clearly I can use help and suggestions. Thank you!

Would you believe me if I said that after I posted this, my computer froze and I had to restart it? It was a sign…

I’m not sure if I’ve told you this before, but I love your desktops, and I’m always excited on the first to see what you’ve made for the month.

Thank you, Bonnie! It’s so nice to hear that you are enjoying the desktop calendars 🙂
      You made my day!

Thank you for this self-reflective post. It sounds so familiar… I’m a paper agenda fan, too. over the years, I fogured out simple Post-in notes create miracles in my ‘getting things done’ process, while apps seem extremely resistant to intergation in my every day life: -)

Plus, I also run the multi-tab issue. Until the browser crashes, or until my husband resets our home computer just because it takes 2-3 minutes to do a trivial transaction online…
Could you suggest any possible ways out?
How do I lose that bad habit?

    Thank you!!

    All the best!

When I figure out how to lose that bad habit, you will be the first person I tell! It’s so hard to not have a million tabs open. I want to keep them open forever (or until I am sure I’m done) and I often keep tabs open on pages I want to look at later. But then later never happens because my browser crashes, haha!

I’ve got about 12 tabs open in two different web browsers at this very moment. I feel like if I don’t open everything I want to read in its own tab, I’ll forget to read it. I’m probably messing up everyone’s bounce rate by doing that :S
