It seems like we are going to have a rainy summer at this point. So much rain has fallen. I think I got to wear a summer dress about twice so far. Twice. Only. Makes me a little sad. I live for summer dresses and they are my favourite part of summer. I hope the weather is a little more pleasant wherever you are…
Sun or no sun, I’ve been trying to make it feel like summer indoors, even if the sun refuses to shine most days. I’ve made ice cream sandwiches, frozen watermelon pops, and a batch of popsicles. Like every summer, I want to make pie, yet I struggle to find the time. Somehow summer pies always make me nervous so I procrastinate a lot. I think it’s because summer berries have so much water in them, and I cannot stand a soggy-bottomed pie, as you know. I should just face my fears, really. Made anything summery lately? I could use some inspiration over here. And some sun.
In other news, I sold a bunch of stuff this spring and I packed a lot of boxes. I’m gearing up for a September move. My first big move in 10 years! You can imagine how much stuff I’ve accumulated. I think I’ve done a good job of donating (or selling) most of the things I’d tucked away and hardly used. Still, I’m sure there’s more that I should part with. One person should only have so much stuff. Right? Some of it honestly felt like dead weight, so I’m glad to have parted with most of it.
