We have officially embarked on a new year and I, for one, am quite pleased to say good-bye to 2017. I was so done with 2017 by the end of it. Everybody makes resolutions in January and normally I don’t: I don’t need more reasons to be disappointed or hard on myself! But this year, there are a few things I’d like to achieve or implement. No pressure. Here it goes. I’d like to achieve simple things in 2018, like drink more water every single day and continue to exercise regularly. I’d like to swallow less Advil (I’m pretty certain last year I consumed 400 Advil, maybe more, probably because I was thirsty all the time). I’m quite certain I can do this. I will at least try. I’d also like to wear lipstick often, instead of the Vaseline I usually apply to my lips (I kid you not!). I hope to use my curling iron more than 3 times this year and get my hair cut at least every 2 months (instead of once every 2 years). Also achievable, wouldn’t you say? It’s basic! I’d like to do better at self-care in general: instead of hoarding face masks and saying that I will take baths and relax more, I’d like to actually do these things for real instead of pushing relaxation to the back burner every week. I’d love to read more and watch less Netflix (why is TV so comfy and automatic when I love to read?), and meditate every morning because so many people swear by it. And on a professional level, maybe I should finish that book proposal I started 2 years ago and write a cookbook or something. Maybe… No pressure!
Here’s to a new year! Let’s do this!
What would you like to make happen in 2018?
