I worked really hard all month so the month of January flew by. I had to stay fairly organized because I had so much going on and be very mindful to allot enough time for each item in my schedule. I also tried to keep on track with my 2018 resolutions of sorts. For example, I attempted to use my Headspace app to meditate every morning, which resulted in me snoozing an extra 10 minutes on most days. I guess it’s a process. I should probably actually sit up in bed to do this, as opposed to curling up and listening to the Headspace man’s soothing voice while dozing off. Baby steps! And remember in January, I vowed to drink a glass of water every morning as soon as I get up? Well, I’ve been doing that as well. I downed a glass of water every single morning in January before stepping out of my bedroom, and I am happy to report that my Advil consumption is way down. Score! I read 5 books, although I technically cheated a little because some of them I’d already started reading last year. I’m still counting 5 books read because I completed 5 books in January. Laurie Colwin’s Home Cooking (find it on Amazon) was definitely a favourite read last month and I highly recommend it. It’s a nice mix of essays and recipes. What have you been reading lately?
In other news, did you know that apparently people are actually eating Tide detergent pods? I’m pretty sure my mother taught me at a very young age that one should not consume laundry detergent, but I guess some people missed the memo? I shouldn’t judge, but it’s hard not to! Anyways, Tide released this funny video telling people why you should not eat Tide pods. Still, I’m amazed that this is even a situation that we are having to discuss. Another trend I read about is people (wellness bloggers) decorating food with poisonous flowers. Oy!
