Books I’ve got my eye on this month
My schedule has been filled with recipe development work and photoshoots without much time to spare. I’ve gotten better at scheduling down time in between, thankfully. I’ve been trying to read whenever I can and you know, I’ve always got my eye on new cookbook releases. Here’s 2 I’m most excited about:
- Weeknight Baking: Recipes to Fit Your Schedule by Michelle Lopez of the blog Hummingbird High: I have been following along on Michelle’s Instagram as she writes her first baking book and I know she has tested and re-tested and then re-re-tested each and every recipe. Michelle is so creative with her baking and flavour pairings, I look forward to her baking book and this is definitely one to pre-order! Preorder Michelle’s book on Amazon.
- The Last Course by Claudia Fleming : a lot of professional bakers refer to this book as one of the greatest baking books out there, but the book has been out of print for a while and old editions were hard to come by. I am looking forward to the revival of this baking book! Preorder The Last Course on Amazon.
I’m also eyeing a July release: Dappled by Nicole Rucker, the pastry chef at Gjusta in LA and the woman behind the pie company Rucker’s Pie. Since I won’t be able to take a trip to LA any time soon, I look forward to her book about baking with fruit, which is what the summer is all about! Dappled is available on Amazon.
